Frontiers in Energy 2017, Volume 11, Issue 2,   Pages 146-154 doi: 10.1007/s11708-017-0475-5

Abstract: sectoral coupling of road traffic (in form of E-Mobility) and electrical energy supply (known as power-to-vehicle(P2V), vehicle-to-grid (V2G) is discussed as one of the possible development concepts for the flexibleAt the same time, the E-mobility can help to reduce the negative effects of the grid integration of RESperiods, the effects can hardly be controlled and can lead to serious technical problems in practical gridBy the combination of both sectors, the possible role of the E-mobility for the distribution grid will

Capture of carbon dioxide over porous solid adsorbents lithium silicate, lithium aluminate and magnesium aluminate at pre-combustion temperatures

V. Korake, A. G. Gaikwad

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2011, Volume 5, Issue 2,   Pages 215-226 doi: 10.1007/s11705-010-1012-9

Abstract: The capturing process for carbon dioxide over porous solid adsorbents such as lithium silicate, lithium aluminate, and magnesium aluminate at pre- combustion temperatures was studied. Lithium silicate was prepared by the sol gel and solid fusion methods. The lithium silicate adsorbent was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and surface area. The capturing of carbon dioxide over lithium silicate, lithium aluminate, and magnesium aluminate was explored at different experimental conditions such as exposure time, temperature variation, and exposure carbon dioxide pressure. The capturing process for carbon dioxide was investigated over these adsorbents with variation of their metal mole ratios. The effect of the addition of (promoter) sodium, potassium, and cesium in the lithium silicate adsorbent was explored to investigate the variation of the capture of carbon dioxide over these adsorbents.

Non-thermal plasma for exhaust gases treatment

,Fernando GÓMEZ B.,Joel PACHECO P.,Arturo COLÍN C.,Víctor SÁNCHEZ-MENDIETA,Ricardo VALDIVIA B.

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2015, Volume 10, Issue 3,   Pages 301-305 doi: 10.1007/s11465-015-0344-z

Abstract:

This article describes a study on a non-thermal plasma device to treat exhaust gases in an internal combustion engine. Several tests using a plasma device to treat exhaust gases are conducted on a Honda GX200-196 cm3 engine at different rotational speeds. A plasma reactor could be efficient in degrading nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. Monoxide and carbon dioxide treatment is minimal. However, achieving 1%–3% degradation may be interesting to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases.

Abstract: This can be envisioned through the implementation of concepts of smart grid (SG).One of the key requisites for SG implementation is that the grid should be completely observable.Renovation of conventional Indian power grid to a SG necessitates incorporation of the phasor measurementunits (PMUs) in the present power grid measurement and monitoring system. The results proposed in this paper can be a stepping stone for revamping the Indian power grid to a SG

Mechanisms of connective tissue formation and blocks of mitogen activated protein kinase

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2012, Volume 6, Issue 2,   Pages 232-237 doi: 10.1007/s11705-012-1286-1

Abstract: Ninety male Wistar rats were selected under the “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals” for skin-muscle wound models. Three groups of animals were examined respectively for inoculation of inhibitor of p38 MAPK (mitogen activated protein kinase) SB 203580 and JNK inhibitor SP 600125, and a control. Light microscopy, immunohistochemistry, and tensometry revealed that the inhibition of p38 or JNK cascades have modified the formation of the connective tissue scar. The degree of connective tissue growth in the area of surgical wound had been significantly reduced by the end of observation (30 d) as the SB 203580 was applied (% volume of collagen 43.60 (41.05 – 60.15) 73.54 (66.87 – 78.01) in control, = 0.002). Conversely, when we have applied the JNK blocker, the density of collagen in scar tissue increased (78.14 (72.77 – 81.14), = 0.022 control). SB203580 inhibits the expression of p38, c-Jun and c-Fos. When we have used the JNK blocker, the expression of c-Fos and c-Jun decreased, but the expression of p38 increased. This determines the high functional activity of fibroblasts after using SP 600125. Obtained results show the importance of studying regulators of cell differentiation as potential drugs, which significantly affect the outcome of the pathological processes.

Strategic Study of CAE 2011, Volume 13, Issue 3,   Pages 107-112

Abstract:

The mathematical model was studied by mechanical analysis and CFD (computing fluid dynamics) computation. Besides, an intelligent adaptive based control law was proposed and the optimization approach is employed to solve the constrained control allocation problem. The results show good closed loop performance and validate the intelligent optimization approach of constrained control allocation for flight control.

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2010, Volume 4, Issue 2,   Pages 142-146 doi: 10.1007/s11705-009-0233-2

Abstract: TiO-AlOmixed oxides with different compositions ranging from 40wt-% to 95wt-% of TiO were prepared by sol-gel method and impregnated with different amounts of VO. Supports and catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), physisorption, temperature preprogrammed reduction (H-TPR), and ammonia temperature programmed desorption (NH-TPD). TiO content in the support had obvious effect on the crystal structure, texture characteristic, acid property, and catalytic activity in dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene (EB) with carbon dioxide. The highest catalytic activity was acquired when the TiO content was 50 wt-%.
